Cryptocurrency stands in a technology commonly called Blockchain Technology. Cryptocurrency is really only a small part of the application of blockchain technology. Blockchain technology itself can be applied to several areas of industry such as health, trade, artificial intelligence, education, and various other industries including finance (cryptocurrency).

What they do is actually quite simple but it does require adequate technical skills. Seele uses a protocol called Value Transfer Protocol (VTP) and Value Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol (VHTTP).
Value Transfer Protocol (VTP)
Value Transfer Protocol is actually to overcome various problems such as Naming mechanism, content addressing, and Route cache. These three problems are an existing problem in blockchain technology just have not been exposed.
Seele proposes a network architecture called Heterogeneous Forest Network Architecture where various chains (a large entity) will oversee some subchains later on (institutions or related sections) and the set of chains will assemble on a large network called Meta Blockchain. And the usefulness of Value Transfer Protocol (VTP) is to give a name and do addressing for the data you want to access.
For example is the following data: CHAIN: //edu.pku.cs/account/data
At the above address, CHAIN is the default protocol. While edu, pku, and cs indicate chain identification at each level. while the account is the address or the person whose data you want to access. And the last is data, or what data you want to access (health, finance, law, education, etc)
At a glance, a naming mechanism is similar to what we often encounter in a computer directory. It may be similar to when you visit the C: \, D: \, or E: \ directories in Windows Explorer in the Windows operating system. But with a scale of course larger.
In addition, VTP also solves the problem in terms of content addressing. For example, if there is a new Sub-chain, then the sub-chain will register itself to the parent chain. And the parent chain will consolidate existing data to meta blockchain because it is the central meta blockchain of the entire system. But meta blockchain will not cause bottlenecks because if there is access to data, the required data can be stored as a cache so there is no need to access directly from meta blockchain.
As for the caching mechanism itself can be done based on several methods, among others:
- Replacing strategy based on the last interviewed time interval
- Replacement strategy based on access frequency
- Strategies based on the last visit interval and frequency of access
- The strategy based on random replacement
Value Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol (VHTTP)
For cross-chain purposes, Seele uses Value Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol (VHTTP). This protocol actually refers to a traditional protocol which we have often used is HTTP. This protocol will be implemented in exchange value both between chain, between on-chain, and off-chain. VHTTP protocol works well with the same format as HTTP. That’s why users outside the chain can access the data in the chain through the HTTP protocol.
